Hot Meal Program

At the Stevens County Developmental Achievement Center, we know good nutrition is essential for overall well-being. Our Hot Meal Program goes beyond providing sustenance; it’s a daily opportunity to nourish both body and spirit.

We serve meals for individuals with specific needs, including:

  • Special Preparation: Our meals can be prepared to be easy to chew, ensuring comfort and safety for those who pose a choking risk.
  • Diabetes: We can provide diabetic-friendly options to help manage blood sugar levels effectively.
  • Food Allergies: We accommodate allergies to provide worry-free dining.
  • Cholesterol Concerns: Heart-healthy choices are part of our daily offerings.

Certified Food Manager
Our chef is a Professional Food Manager, certified by the State of Minnesota Department of Health. She prepares hot lunches daily in our commercial kitchen, which is also licensed by the State of Minnesota Department of Health.

What makes our meal program special:
Our in-house chef crafts wholesome and balanced meals that cater to diverse dietary needs. Whether a service recipient has food allergies or requires modified textures, we’ve got you covered. Expect fresh ingredients, flavorful dishes, and a variety of options, made fresh every day.

Mealtimes are more than just food—they’re moments of connection. Our communal dining area encourages social interaction. Service recipients share stories, laughter, and companionship while enjoying meals. It’s a chance to build friendships and feel part of a larger family.

Work Opportunities
The Hot Meal Program isn’t just about food; it’s about empowerment. Several of our clients enjoy learning to work in a food service environment at our facility. It’s an opportunity to gain skills and contribute to the community.
